Albert Coke Roth, III, known by all as “Coke,” graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1968. Coke studied four years at the University of Washington, with his Junior year spent in Germany, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in German Area Studies/Germanics in 1972. After working and training in Los Angeles with the Gallo Wine Company, Coke joined Roth Distributing Company in 1973 and was President of this family beverage distributorship until it was sold in 1989. 

Coke, at the age of 40, attended the University of Puget Sound School of Law from 1990-1993 and was admitted to practice law in Washington on November 4, 1993 one week short of his 44th birthday, later being admitted to practice in Oregon and certain federal courts.

Coke’s practice focuses on general and agricultural business organization, governance,  succession and contractual matters: family estate planning (Wills/Trusts/Powers of Attorney); Probate and estate administration; and, agricultural, residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Coke retired from a 41-year avocational career as a professional wine judge, sensory and blending winery consultant and wine columnist.

Coke has been well known as a community volunteer throughout his entire life, having been awarded the Governor’s Award for Volunteerism, Kennewick Man of the Year, Tri-Citian of the Year, Kennewick Public Hospital District Volunteer of the Year Award, Silver Knight of Leadership from the Mid-Columbia Leadership Development Association, ARC Community Professional of the Year Award, Academy of Children’s Theater Outstanding Achievement Award, Junior Achievement Hero Award, Service In Leadership Award from Grace Kitchen, and has was named the Tri City Herald People’s Choice Best Lawyer/Attorney/Estate Planning Attorney since the Award’s inception in 2014, so, 2014 through 2024 as a Winner without ever being omitted. Coke provides free (pro bono) legal services to dozens of Non-Profit Corporations throughout the region.

Coke’s wife, Mary Roth, a Certified Public Accountant, live in Richland, as well as most of his children, grandchildren great-grandchildren. Coke’s hobbies are exclusively work, cooking and travel...Coke is horrible at anything else someone would call a hobby.
